Open Beta and Official Release is right around the corner and it’s time for an update on Corruption’s activity.
For starters Corruption will officially be on the new PvP Server: Basilisk Crag. Since most of the large legions will remain where they are now, Basilisk Crag will offer us a fresh start and give us an edge when recruiting new members. Keep this in mind when creating characters for open beta and name reservation.
But first here is information on Open Beta, Name Reservation, Head Start, and Official Release:
*Name Reservation:
Begins: Friday, April 13 at 7:00 PM Pacific
Ends: Tuesday, April 17 at 10:00 AM Pacific
*Open Beta (1 Character per server limit/Level Limit:32)
We just wrapped up a full weekend of testing TERA on the Serpents Isle server. The combat is definitely unique for an MMO. It’s takes quite a while to get up to speed with the action based system, but they ease you into it. You have a pretty limited set of skills until about level 16-22, when things start to get more interesting. By then you have a good grasp of the control system.
I put up a video of Kaelini and Myself(Sneth) taking down one of the tougher mobs. It takes about 7 minutes to kill this elite mob with just the two of us, but you get a great idea on how frantic combat can get.
Watch in HD if you have the bandwidth. Let me know what you think of my Raccoon’s title.

Last month we expanded our Pre-Launch Guild Program with the implementation of Phase 2: Alignment, where guilds could designate other guilds as allies or adversaries. Now, as Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ moves ever-closer to launch, we are excited to announce that we have initiated the first part of Phase 3: Deployment!
Phase 3: Deployment will see any guild that meets the pre-designated criteria be transferred into the game for launch. Before we begin this process, though, we want to give all of you who are in guilds the opportunity to make sure your guild meets the following requirement for transfer:
Four members of the guild must have pre-ordered the game and redeemed their Pre-Order Code at the Code Redemption Center.
(NOTE: We have removed the additional requirement for the guild leader to log in to the website and verify that their guild remains active and wants to be imported.)
To help clear up any confusion as to whether or not your guild is ready for deployment, we have now given each guild page a small status indicator. This indicator will show you the number of people in your guild who have pre-ordered the game, and will inform you whether or not your guild meets the criteria for deployment into the game.
Now is the time to make sure that your guild meets the criteria to be transferred into the game so visit the Guild HQ now! Make sure to secure your copy of Star Wars: The Old Republic by visiting our Pre-Order page, and then redeem your Pre-Order Code at the Code Redemption Center to ensure that your guild is among the first to explore The Old Republic!
To learn more about guilds in The Old Republic, check out the Guilds Game System page for details and visit the Guilds FAQ for answers to commonly asked questions.
Beta Testing Weekends for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ began earlier this month and during our first weekend, we invited more players into testing than we’ve ever invited before in a single weekend! Now we’re getting ready for another Beta Testing Weekend, starting on October 7th and finishing on October 10th. With increased invite numbers from the first weekend, even more of you will get to play The Old Republic.

The last part of the Holonet is revealed, the new interactive galaxy map is up! go check it out! It shows off the various planets with a brief descriptions and a video, there is also a starship section. Be aware though that people are having trouble with the videos loading, Bioware is aware of this issue.
Advanced Classes are specialized careers that your characters can choose in Star Wars™: The Old Republic™. As your character becomes more seasoned through adventure, you will be given the opportunity to undertake one of two Advanced Classes. This decision is equally as important as choosing your initial class at character creation. Your choice will not only make your character more distinct and powerful, but will also help further define the role you wish to play in Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Your choice of Advanced Class not only defines which skill trees are available to your character (there are two unique trees per Advanced Class as well as one shared tree for the class), they also provide access to various special abilities, such as the ability to dual wield Lightsabers, wear heavy armor, etc.
These skill trees are not finalized and are subject to change between now and launch.
Even heroes need friends. Whatever epic journeys they may undertake, heroes always find they need allies to join in their adventures and help achieve their goals. This is why companions have been a traditional part of Star Wars™ since the very beginning and why they’ve been an important element in all the BioWare RPGs. Unsurprisingly, Companion Characters also play a critical role in Star Wars™: The Old Republic™.
In your story, they will provide colorful commentary and comic relief, and as your saga unfolds, they will become your most trusted allies. In combat, they will fight at your side, complementing your tactical expertise, and supporting you wherever you go. We are also pleased to tell you that after testing and feedback, we’ve added an additional layer of customizability for companions both in terms of their appearances and in terms of their tactics in combat.
Watch this new Developer Dispatch to hear more on the importance of Companion Characters in The Old Republic and some of the many ways in which they contribute to your hero’s journey and the overall gameplay experience.
